History of Bail
If you have never had a run in with law enforcement, you may be pondering what bail bonds is exactly. Bail is the means in which the United States criminal justice system permits the release of the accused from custody, while ensuring that the accused will appear at their court proceedings.
The United States carried this system over from England, and our constitution even contains an amendment that states that no excessive bail shall be posted.
